So…we still don’t know what caused last week’s crazzzzy taxi fire, but we do know a little bit more about the Ford Crown Victoria. Gothamist reports that more than 20 cops have died in Crown Vic related fires–Ford’s crown jewel of a sedan comprises the majority of taxi and police fleets, and they have a penchant for blowing up (at least when you hit them from behind). Yet, as I pointed out in an earlier post, virtually none of the recent explosions resulted from a crash (ex. 2006).
